Search Like-A-Boss! - Effective Google Search - Search like An Expert!

Google maybe a simple search engine for you but it contains many secrets, you can advance your search by the following tricks:

• Find Exact Word or a Phrase:

Put your word or phrase in  Double Quotation and then search. for example: "Exampleword" or  "Exampleword is awesome", Just enclosed the words or phrase you are searching for in a double quotation and Google-Search will display search for the exact words or phrases.

• Find Similar Words to any word:

You are searching for software engineering and you wanna search it in profession then just do your search like this:

"software engineering" ~profession

• Exclude Words:

You can exclude any terms from the search, like you're searching for usb flash drive and you don't wanna search for the usb flash drives by the Kingston then your search would be like this:

"usb flash drive"-Kingston

• Search in Specific Website:

You can search any website by Google search engine, your results would be come from that specific website. For example you want to search for nokia in website whatmobile.com.pk then your search would be like this:

"nokia" site:whatmobile.com.pk

• Search for Specific File type:

You can search for the specific file type with Google search, for example you are searching for Power-point presentation on topic html 5 then search it like this:

"html 5" filetype:ppt

• Either THIS or THAT:

You always do search for any one specific term, how about doing search for two or more specific terms. Yes you can do that and the Google will display both search result on a page. But remember that the OR should be capital.

"world cup" OR "olympics"

• Word Definitions:

You have Google Search and you don't need a dictionary as Google search can define any word you ask for. for example you wanna know the definition of the word fly search it like this:

define:fly

Spam and Junk E-mails Annoys YOU? - Solution!

You cannot stop spam 100% but you can control it or in other words you can decrease it enough to not annoy you. Every email providers have different system, so i will show you how you can decrease junk mails in Yahoo, G-mail and Hotmail.

Yahoo:

• Sign In
• Open the "Options" menu which is located at the top-left corner of the page
• Click on the "Mail Options"
• Under General, Scroll down to the "Spam Protection" area, Check the "Automatically move spam to spam folder"
• In "Advance Options" at the left column you will see "Blocked Addresses", you can block unwanted emails addresses from there.
• You can filters spam emails by word's, phrases by Filters, which is located in "Advanced Options"

G-mail:

• Sign In
• Click on the Steel wheel, which is located at the top-right of the page then select "Settings".
• Goto Labs tab.
• Scroll Down for SmartLabels and "Enable" it.
• Scroll Down and Save Changes.

Now Emails go into different labels like notifications, bulk, Forums and it will be easy for you to manage them.

Applying Filters:

• Click on the Steel wheel, which is located at the top-right of the page then select "Settings".
• Goto Filters tab.
• Click Create a new filter, you can put restrictions to specific Words, Subjects, e-mail address etc after that click on Create filter with this search.
•  Now Check the desired actions for the word's or emails addresses you specified, and click on Create Filter.
• You are Done... :)

Hotmail:

• Sign In
• Goto Inbox
• Select Options | More options, located at the top right side of the page.
• Under Preventing Junk Email, you have two options that will control spam emails.

1. Filters and Reporting

• Click Filters and Reporting
• Set the filter level to "Standard" and others settings to your desires.
• Save it.

2.  Safe and blocked senders

You can block undesired email addresses from here and you can also classify safe email addresses so that hotmail will not delete/spam the emails from your friends and family.

Use similar searches to convert any unit

Currency Conversion in Google:

Just like Unit conversion, to convert 6 US dollars in Euros

search and type " 6 usd in euros "

You can convert other currencies by same method.

Check Weather Of Any City:

Type and search : " weather <City> "

Google As A Calculator:

You can use google for calculations, some examples are given below :-

• sqrt(7)
